Signal Garden OS Alpha™
A place you interact with,
not consume.
Human-led · Governed · Yours to explore.
Today's signal · The Night Gardener
Something grows in the dark.
Not all growth is visible. Not all work is witnessed. The Night Gardener tends what cannot be seen yet. What are you tending that no one knows about? It matters. It is growing.

A second pair of eyes and ears for your digital files.
Upload images, audio, video, screenshots, documents, or creative outputs. Signal Garden turns them into descriptions, summaries, captions, accessibility notes, and clean Markdown files you can save or keep working with.
🦐 Mantis-Shrimp Certified
Mantis shrimp see 16 color channels. Humans see 3. The Translator is built for the full spectrum — deuteranomaly, tritanopia, photosensitivity, motion sensitivity, and every perceptual reality in between. Accessibility is the gate, not an add-on.
Chaotic input → focused beam → clean Markdown card
Core Product Doctrine
Every file speaks in a format.
Not every human can access every format equally.
Translation turns media into usable forms.
Markdown is the common tongue.
The user decides what gets saved, shared, exported, or transformed.
Embassytown Community — a place where humans, tools, media, and weird little artifacts can understand each other better. Translation is diplomacy, not authority. Accessibility is the gate, not an add-on.
Sample Translations
This is what the Translator produces. Each artifact is yours to export, save, or remix.
# UI Notes — Dashboard Screenshot
**Layout:** Sidebar nav (left) + main content (right). Three-column grid on desktop.
**Accessibility observation:** Button contrast ratio appears below 4.5:1 on the secondary CTA. Recommend checking against WCAG AA.
**Alt text draft:** "A dark-themed analytics dashboard with a sidebar menu, three metric cards at top, and a line chart below."
Useful for: design reviews, accessibility audits, handoff notes
# Listening Notes — Voice Memo 04-28
**Duration:** 3m 42s · **Speaker:** 1 · **Tone:** Reflective
**Key points:**
- Revisiting the "translation as diplomacy" framing
- Question: does the Translator need a name?
- Note to self: check the pencil beam paper again
**Transcript excerpt:** "I keep coming back to the idea that the file isn't the problem — the format is..."
Roadmap · Useful for: voice notes, interviews, meeting recordings
# Forge Export — Session 2026-04-28

Image, audio, video, screenshot, document, or text. Your file goes to secure S3 storage — never shared, never trained on.
Visual description, transcription, document parsing, metadata extraction, or media summarization — depending on file type.
Plain-language explanation, accessibility notes, useful observations, optional creative prompts. No hallucination-first outputs.
Download as .md, copy to clipboard, or save into your Nexus Lab. The artifact is yours.
The Translator does not publish, promote, or share your file unless you deliberately choose that path.

No AI media tool can honestly promise zero risk. Our approach is containment.
PDF Translation — Evidence Note
PDF translation depends on embedded text. Scanned documents or complex layouts (multi-column, tables, sidebars) may produce partial or reordered output. When this happens, the Translator labels the output with an evidence level — CERTAIN (clean text), PARTIAL (mixed), or INFERRED (scanned/no text) — and asks you to review before exporting.
"No AI media tool can honestly promise zero risk. Signal Garden's approach is containment: limited permissions, visible boundaries, user-initiated actions, portable outputs, and human review before anything becomes public or operational. No hidden tests. No identity labeling. No automatic publishing. No background monitoring. No pretending uncertainty is certainty."
Paid Workspace Doctrine
The Akonautilus Starship Cockpit™ is a paid workspace for saving, organizing, and reviewing translated media artifacts. It can help you see, hear, summarize, export, and compare your files — but it does not decide what they mean for you.
Markdown artifacts are designed to be portable, reviewable, and compatible with future private Nexus review tools.
