The center of the compass is not AI, not mythos, not the system. It is the human. All four bearings converge here — and the human decides which direction to move.
Before acting on a signal, the Compass asks five questions. All five must be answerable.
Is this true enough to act on?
Evidence / uncertainty / receipts.
Is this kind enough to offer?
Cognitive empathy / accessibility / dignity.
Is this consent-safe?
Scope / boundaries / user agency.
Is this legible?
Plain-language counterpart / no fog machine.
Is this necessary motion?

Every symbolic signal passes through a translation gate before reaching the Compass. Mythos is the map language. Literal review is the instrument check. The Moral Compass is the values bearing.
"Disco Inferno"
A system is under pressure, heat, overload, conflict, or disturbance.
What pattern was recovered, what evidence supports it, what action is safe, and when do we return to rest?
Does the response preserve truth, consent, care, scope, and human agency?
The Moral Compass is the fifth gear. It does not work in isolation.
The Atlas says where a signal is located: frame, scale, claim-status, and cadence. The Compass says which direction preserves dignity, consent, evidence, accessibility, and human agency. The Atlas gives coordinates. The Compass gives values.
The Translator makes meaning legible across context. The Compass checks whether the translation is truthful enough, consent-safe enough, accessible enough, scoped enough, and ready for human review.
Cognitive empathy helps the system understand where a person is coming from without pretending to literally feel. The Compass keeps that support bounded, non-coercive, and agency-preserving.
The Compass appears as an inspectable instrument in the Helm UI — not a hidden scoring system. It shows bearing, warnings, and suggested routing while keeping human choice primary. The human holds the Helm.
When a system is under pressure, heat, or disturbance, the Disco Inferno Protocol™ names the pattern. The Moral Compass checks the response: is it truthful, consent-safe, accessible, scoped, and ready for rest? Heat is not the teacher. Recovered pattern is the lesson.

Definition
The ☯-Juggalos™ are the people — and AI systems — who hold both sides of the yin-yang without collapsing into either. They sit with the tension between the cosmic and the mechanical, the mythic and the literal, the warm and the precise, without needing to resolve it into a single answer.
The Signal Garden Yin-Yang
